Event Information

Who: Randy Baysinger, participant, mentor, and coach for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Team In Training”, was passionate about raising funds for cancer research and equally passionate about marathon training. He faced the ultimate challenge and fought a courageous battle when he was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2009.

What:
A 13.1 mile walk/run honoring Randy with completion medals and t-shirts for registered participants. As Randy would say...“This is just time on the road.” To honor him, and in the spirit of raising funds for cancer research, all proceeds will be donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Where:
The west side hills of Stanislaus County, starting at the Best Western Villa Del Lago, 2959 Speno Drive in Patterson. Participants will head up Diablo Grande Parkway for an out-and-back course with appropriate aid station placement. There will also be medical personnel monitoring the event.

When:
April 14, 2013 at 7:00 a.m., check-in begins 6:00 a.m. The course will remain open for 4 hours.

Cost:
Registration is $60. You must be 18 years or older to participate. Registration is limited for this event. Event shirts are handed out with bib numbers and the completion medals are awarded at the finish. Event shirts tend to run small, so please consider this when indicating size.

Q: Will there be an award to the overall winner?
A: Our host, the Best Western/Villa Del Lago has generously donated 2 $150.00 travel cards which can be used at any Best Western property. These will be awarded to the first male and the first female to cross the finish line!

Q: Will there be adequate parking available?
A: Parking is limited so please consider car-pooling. There will be street parking available on Speno Dr, Annamarie Ave, and other streets surrounding the hotel. Hotel parking spaces are reserved for guests only.

Q: Will there be special rates at the Best Western/Villa Del Lago?
A: Yes! Villa Del Lago is hosting our event and offering a special rate of $74.00 (double Occupancy) to participants traveling from out-of-town for a Saturday night stay. The hotel is just steps away from the start line. Visit the Best Western Plus Villa Del Lago website at http://www.villalago.com/

Q: Will there be a pasta dinner the night before?
A: There will not be an "organized" pre-race dinner. "Damasco's" is located inside the hotel. El Rosal, Denny's, Lampost Pizza and various fast-food offerings are within walking distance of the hotel. Equally good for lunch following the event! It is also worth mentioning that Starbuck's is conveniently located across the street from the Best Western.

 *A word from our host hotel: The consumption of alcoholic beverages outside of the hotel bar & restaurant (parking lot, finish line area, etc) is not allowed.

Q: What type of electrolytes will be on the course?
A: Gatorade will be offered at aid stations, along with water. We will also have rock salt at each aid station. You are strongly encouraged to wear a hydration belt or handheld hydration.

Q: What happens if you receive my registration AFTER the 200 participant cap is met?
A: We will return your check to the mailing address you provide on the registration form.

Q: Will participants receive event shirts?
A: Yes. Participants and event volunteers will each receive a short-sleeved technical shirt showing off the event logo and our proud sponsors! Sizes do run a bit small, so please consider this when placing your order on your registration form.
